Date when visited Ponta Delgada - 2012-05-02
There are 9 islands, the ship docked at Ponta Delgada of Sao Miguel island. Arrival time is 12 noon and departure time is 6 PM. All passengers much be back by 5:30 PM. Ponta Delgada town is not big. Most people did city walk. There is one shopping mall offers free Wi-Fi. I just cannot believe pineapple is their famous agricultural produce. The islands is about 800 miles off the coast of Portugal. The currency is Euro. Tourist information gave us a brief map, it did help me to walk through the city.
2012-11-17 Add more photos. The island is far away from Portugal, but it still has the taste of Europe. I did one day walking city trip. I believe churches are the major cultural sites. The stone/brick road is very impressive. The store price is pretty affordable than other EU counties, especially Baltic countries.
