Cruise ship docked at port Phu My - the pronunciation and meaning is Chinese 福美. About 2.5 hours drive to Saigon.
The city is beautiful, just as its nick name 东方巴黎the Oriental Paris. The historical Notre Dame Basilica is beautiful, at building time, bricks are from France. The famed Central Post Office is designed by the same architect who designed Eiffel Tower.
US consulate office is used to be the US Embassy. The Presidential Hall is now the Unification Hall. During Vietnam War time, REX hotel used to be the Western reporters's place.
Too many motor cycles in the city. Cross the road - just walk in constant speed, do not stop, the drivers know how to drive around you.
Only a few hours visit to this world famous city. We had lunch at Pho 2000, it is so famous because President Clinton had dined there during his visit in 2000. .
