Aix-en-Provence has many universities. Tour guide mentioned more than 40k students live in this city. We walked through the old sections and passing many universities. In one area, we saw two students shared one noodle box, I walked toward them and asked where did you buy it? They told me a Vietnamese restaurant nearby. I believe in student's area, food is more affordable. Tour guide like us to buy food at city center boulevard side restaurants and use their toilet. There is no free toilet. Maybe, I should use university toilet. There are only 2 paid French invented portable toilets in the central fountain plaza. You paid Euro 50 cents, then door will open. You walk in, then close the door and use it. The space is pretty big. With tons of tourists jammed on that day, the queue for toilet is like buying movie tickets.
There are shopping district in the central plaza area. A tourist office for tourists in the fountain area. There is also a large bus station nearby. I walked to the bus station because tourist info told me there is one paid toilet booth near the station.
