Florence, Italy

Florence is a city I visited on my cruise trip. The port is Livorno. From Livorno to Florence is about 2 hours by car. Italian name is Firenze, in Tuscany region.

My impression of the city is very classic and historical. Street can be narrow and built with stone. Generally, visiting a city we all need to find out public washrooms. Since we are on our tour, our tour guide took us to a leather shop and use their only one toilet. You can image the line up length. The next chance to use toilet is restaurant.

First let me show you part of the city, that is the major attractions - churches, museums

The city from bus:

Basilica of Santa Croce

Palazzo Vecchio

Ponte Vecchio

Piazza Duomo & Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore

Galleria dell' Accademia - Art Museum, home of Michelangelo's David

Long queue to get in

We are on reserved tour, pay extra 4 Euro and enter at special time but we only see one item
that is David statue

City and Train station

Lunch at Sabatini

Florence is a very worth to visit city. You can fly direct to Florence if your city have this kind route, if not, fly to Rome then take air or train to Florence.

There are modern hotels in certain area. There are BNB or AIRBNB or hotels in the city. Just look at the lone queue for David statue. It is better to reserve your museum tickets in advance.
