I had one Panama Canal trip in 2012. It was from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles. This trip is partial transit of Panama Canal from Los Angeles and back to Los Angeles. It got through Pacific side locks until Lake Gatun and anchored over night. The position is near Atlantic Ocean lock. I could see their tourist observation tower. It means if the ship sail further through the lock, we will be in Atlantic Ocean. That will be a full transit of the Canal.
The ship sailed near Panama City, then entered Pacific entrance, passing the bridge of Americas. Then enter Miraflores Locks. There is new path that was opened in 2016. When I did my 2012 trip, they are working on the new path. This time I can see the new path. I believe the new path price is higher, I only see one ship going through the waterway. Now, Panama Canal can take very large ship to go through the Canal.

This war ship is new. I do not see canon or radar tower. The cost to build one is 7.5 billions.
