Xinjiang lies in northwestern China. The climate - more sunny with less rainy days. Agriculture - grain, livestock, cotton, minerals, sugar beets. Ethnic groups (nationalities) - Uygur, Han, Kazak, Mongolian, Khirghiz, Uzbek, Manchu, Tartar, Daur, Russians, etc.

2006-09-09 morning, we went to Beijing 首都机场. We met the tour company representative for air tickets. China Southern Airlines flight to 乌鲁木齐. Flight had mechanical problem, we were on the plane to have the problem fixed for 2 hours. One senior passenger could not take it and called cabin manager several times. The cabin manager's face turned reddish. When we arrived at the airport, many tour company representatives trying to pass us pamphlets or brochures. The local tour guide was there to greet us. We stayed in a hotel is interesting because of its name - 五星酒店 5 star hotel. After loading our luggage, we went out in the neighbouring area to see a local market - deep red tomatoes, spices, pork, etc. This market is for 汉族 because of pork. Pig 猪 is a restricted word in this province, local tour guide warned us on the bus to our hotel, it is better to call pig as 大耳朵羊 or 大耳朵牛. My brother and I called a taxi to the city center. It is the largest city in the western area with beautiful avenue and high-rises.

Local tour guide sent us to the train station around 6:30 PM on 2006-09-11. We are taking night train to 敦煌. During our 3 day visit, the places visited - 天山吐鲁番乌鲁木齐. One day, I like to be three again.
