My travels: May 2018

Chongqing is a very large city by population - over than 30 millions

Geographic of the city is low to Yangtze river and Jialing river, but there are hills and mountains. Up and down is hard for my feet and knee. Public transit is excellent in rail trains and buses. There is one candola across Yangtze river. There was one across Jialing river.

Hotels are abundant, but you have to know where you like to stay. My brothers and I were staying in River Romance Hotel 两江丽景酒店 that is close to a Metro station and 2 bus stops, one is just in front of the hotel. When my sister book her hotel, River Romance was not available, so she booked Chongqing Marriott. That hotel is in Nan An 南岸section, it is far away from our hotel. When we like to get together in Jie Fan Bei 解放碑, she had a hard time to get there by bus.

Hotel room is big - a suite but the decoration is pretty awful. There are two tvs.

Breakfast on 16th floor, just one floor from my room floor.

How we get to our hotel from Metro, walk out from Metro station, then climb up, later walk down and up. Station is Huang Hua Yuan 黄花园

This is the CBD of Chongqing. There are old historical uildings

It is near 朝天门 Chaotianmen, Yangtxe river bank busy port. Goods shipped to the port, then move down by man power, not mechanical helping tools. There are people for hiring to carry the heavy goods.
